Engine Techwin, which has previously developed and produced 40kW-class DME (dimethyl ether) generators, has now successfully developed a 100kW DME generator.
As an oxygenated fuel, DME produces virtually no fine particulate matter during combustion, resulting in a 90–95% reduction in fine particulate emissions compared to the use of diesel fuel. While previous development efforts focused on small-scale generators (40kW class) and vehicles (3.5-ton class), the successful development of this 100kW unit confirms that there are no technical limitations to scaling the technology up to the 300kW class.
The attached photo shows the newly developed 100kW-class DME generator.
