Replacement and installation of a 1MW power generation system at the Dongdaemun Resource & Environment Center

In September 2022, Engine Techwin completed the removal of aging biogas power generation and pre-treatment equipment at the Dongdaemun Resource & Environment Center, replacing it with new machinery and successfully finishing the subsequent trial operations.

As a result, the facility—which had previously relied on grid-supplied electricity due to the inoperable state of its power generation equipment—is now able to generate its own power using biogas, leading to significant savings on electricity costs. Furthermore, by converting food waste into gas for power generation, the facility now contributes to the reduction of global warming gases.
